Governor Mike DeWine has declared a state of emergency in 19 counties affected by severe flooding, allowing state agencies to provide additional resources and assistance for recovery.
(3:56-8:35) Gas Tax Holiday
Ohio’s two gubernatorial candidates are calling for a temporary gas-tax holiday to help drivers with rising fuel costs. Both Republican businessman Vivek Ramaswamy and Democrat Dr. Amy Acton are calling on lawmakers to temporarily suspend the state's gas tax to provide relief from high fuel prices. Governor DeWine, on the other hand, has questions about how the state would replace the revenue lost from suspending the tax.

The trial continues for Modou Ngom, who is accused of causing a deadly I-71 crash that killed a family of three and injured others. 10TV was in the courtroom for opening arguments and as testimony began. The trial continues today in Delaware County.

The Economic and Community Development Institute discusses its work helping Ohio entrepreneurs launch and grow their businesses. ECDI says it assisted more than 8,400 entrepreneurs and distributed more than $11.7 million in small-business loans during its most recent fiscal year. One such business is Hispanic-owned Underworld Feast, a central Ohio-based salsa company. Underworld Feast co-founder Lucia Herrera talks about her journey in starting a small business.

The family of Callahan Hare shares how their son’s diagnosis with infant leukemia inspired the creation of the Callahan Murphy Hare Foundation. The foundation has donated more than $400,000 toward pediatric cancer research and is working to support newer, kinder and more effective treatments. The foundation’s funding supports research at several leading children’s hospitals, including projects focused on CAR-T cell therapy, infant leukemia, immunotherapy and other emerging treatments. The organization also runs programs designed to support children undergoing cancer treatment. This weekend is the CMHF Kids in Capes 5k and Fun Run and there's still time to sign up!
